CAVALIERI OUT – FEDERICI IN?

The father of Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has confirmed his son is attracting interest from Liverpool and has advised him to move to Anfield if a formal offer is forthcoming.

Federici, 24, was a member of the Reading side that shocked Liverpool on Wednesday night when forcing extra time with a late penalty and then winning 2-1 in the FA Cup third-round replay at Anfield.

The Australian, who has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Royals this season, has been linked with a move to Merseyside in recent days with Liverpool's current number two 'keeper, Diego Cavalieri, failing to impress.
While Federici is undoubtedly being targeted as a back-up to current number one Jose Reina, his father, Tony, feels a transfer to Anfield could prove difficult to resist.

"If I was advising him, in the big scheme of things, you'd have to be mad not to not to take it," Federici senior told the Daily Mirror. "I spoke to Adam and his agent has said he was aware that there had been some contact.
