LIVERPOOL LOOKING TO SIGN COLOMBIA ACE

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez according to reports from Spain. Rodriguez has been on loan at German side Bayern Munich for the past two seasons but is believed to be on his way back to Madrid.

The 26-year-old has not impressed consistently at the German club and the club’s hierarchy have ruled out a bid for the flamboyant midfielder. According to Spanish tabloid,Marca Rodriguez has attracted interest from a number of clubs including EPL sides Arsenal and Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the midfielder as he feels that he can be the number 10 required at the club since the exit of Phillippe Coutinho. The Reds tried to sign Lyon talisman Nabil Fekir in the summer but the move was called off as a result of a failed medical. Liverpool have been huge spenders and have come a long way from the era of the likes of Diego Cavalieri playing for the club.

James would bring creativity and goals in the midfield and would form a good partnership with Fabinho and Keita in the middle of the park. The Colombian is also an excellent set-piece specialist and known for his excellent long-range shooting ability.

However, Juventus seem to have the upper hand as the player reportedly prefers the Italian league to the EPL. Rodriquez is considered one of the elite midfielders of his generation and would be a huge addition to any club in the summer.

The Colombian has been decent this season contributing seven goals and three assists in 18 league appearances for the Bundesliga leaders.  It is believed that Real Madrid would be willing to listen to offers within the range of £50 million.

Rodriguez made his big move from Monaco to Real Madrid after the 2014 World Cup where he emerged as the top goalscorer. He has scored 36 goals in 111 appearances for the European champions during his time at the club.
