Diego Cavalieri has hope with Brazil’s Tite

On June of 2016, it was confirmed that Tite was the man selected to replace the former coach of the Brazilian national team Dunga.

Dunga was sacked from his position after guiding the Brazilian national side to an underwhelming campaign where they failed to reach the knock-out stages of the latest edition of the Copa America Centenario.

Tite was recently selected as the new coach of Brazil and this has actually sparked a glimpse of light and hope towards Diego Cavalieri as the 33 year old has said that he wants to perform at the international stage with Brazil which is something that he has not been able to do in over 2 years.

‘’It’s not something that I’m planning now, but it’s a new coach, a new philosophy and we are always working to return to the national team. Every athlete works thinking about it. Brazil has excellent goalkeepers with great values that are competing outside of the country as well’’ Fluminense’s Diego Cavalieri said as he voiced his desire to return to the international scene with his country.

Becoming a regular starter for the Brazilian national side is something that realistically speaking, might be out of the realm of possibilities for Diego Cavalieri as the 33 year old player has recently been suffering with injuries that has kept him out of the first team of Fluminense and sustaining injuries at that age can really take a toll on the playing career of a performer, especially for someone that is probably reaching the last few years of his professional competitive career.

Alisson is the current regular starter in the goal-keeping position of Brazil and with only 24 years of age, he has his entire career lying ahead and it seems hard to believe that Diego Cavalieri will have any realistic chance of getting a consistent start ahead of Alisson or any of the other younger rising stars of the Brazilian nation.

Cavalieri believes in Klopp

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri believes that Jurgen Klopp is the right man for Liverpool.

He said that the manager has the necessary experience and should be able to bring Liverpool back to the top of the League. The former goalkeeper stated that Liverpool has been far too long in the shadow of other clubs and that it is time for the club to rise.

He believes that Klopp has the necessary experience to build a team from scratch and to help them challenge for trophies. Diego Cavalieri believes that the German manager has signed some quality players in the transfer window and that soon we will see the impact of the players on the team.

He believes that Liverpool has already shown their quality in matches against Arsenal and Chelsea but they will have to be consistent if they want to win the title. It is no use beating the big teams if you are going to lose matches against the smaller teams.

Diego Cavalieri said that Jurgen Klopp has already shown his qualities at Borussia Dortmund where he managed to challenge Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga. He believes that he will be able to do the same thing at Liverpool and that the club will be able to compete not only in the Premier League but in Europe as well.

Diego Cavalieri is a former Liverpool goalkeeper who joined the team in 2008 from Palmeiras. He will make appearances in the League Cup, FA Cup as well as the Champions League but will fail to make any appearance in the Premier League.

He will ultimately be sold to Cesena where again he will fail to make an impact. After some months with the team, he will return to Brazil to play for Fluminense.

KARIUS EXPECTED TO BECOME ONE OF REDS’ BEST GLOVES

Liverpool has had a lot of changes in the goal keeping section for years now and Coach Jurgen Kloop wants Loris Karius to take over. Since the premier League era of the Reds, let’s take a look at some other shot stoppers that have graced the position.

Former manager Bob Paisley convinced Bruce Grobbelaar to join Liverpool from Vancouver Whitecaps far back in 1982. Grobbelaar joined and went on to become one of the most successful, if not the most, for the club. By the time he left, he was one of the most long standing goal keepers with his record of around 600 games at Anfield. He won six league titles, three FA Cup medals, two League Cup trophies, and one European Cup medal whilst in action for the Reds. He was the top choice in between the sticks until 1993.

The English goal keeper David James joined from understudying Grobbelaar, he eventually got his chance. James was in goal when the changes began to happen in the Premier League in the 90s. The money began to come into the League around that time. He was enjoyed decent success at the club, winning the League Cup in 1995. He was replaced by Dutchman Sander Westerveld.

Westerveld won a lot of titles at the club despite the short time he spent. In two seasons at the club, he racked up the League Cup medal, an FA Cup medal, and a UEFA Cup medal. After him was Polish goal keeper in Jerzy Dudek. His performance in arguably the club’s greatest comeback in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan would never be forgotten at Anfield.

Former coach Rafael Benitez eventually brought Pepe Reina to take over as number 1. Pepe is easily the best keeper in Liverpool’s recent history. Brazilian Diego Cavalieri didn’t play in the domestic league as Reina was in charge but he took charge at the domestic tournaments. Cavalieri didn’t stay long and had to leave. Brad Jones, another back up for Reina took over fully in 2010 and held the forte until Simon Mignolet took over in 2014. Karius has his chance now to write his name in the sands of time at the club, as many others that have passed before him.

Fluminense slumped to a second consecutive defeat

Fluminense slumped to a second consecutive defeat after a 4-2 thrashing at the hands of Santos.

This led to a lot of questions about the team being capable of coming closer to the top of the Brazilian Serie A table. As one of the experienced members of the team, goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri claimed that the team had to improve the balance in order to be more consistent when it comes to getting results. After making a poor start to the season, the club are in danger of finishing mid-table as a result of this poor form.

Even though the team has been doing well in patches,Cavalieri accepted the importance of playing well for the entire 90 minutes. One of the reasons for the inconsistent form according to the goalkeeper is the influx of young players into the first-team. He has recalled that the team did extremely well in the opening 35 minutes against Santos before slipping to a 4-2 defeat. The manner in which the team surrendered their good position was a source of concern, butCavalieri remains confident of returning back to winning ways when the team takes on Flamengo in the next match. However, Fluminense will have to do extremely well in order to get a win since the game is away from home.

“We have young players and others who are coming now. We’re alternating between good and bad times in the same game. We need to find the balance for 90 minutes. They are adjustments we need to do. In that game against Santos, for example, in the first 35 minutes were very good, pressing and goal. But after we gave a little space and they killed the game. Football in Brazil today is very dynamic. It’s hard to explain what happens sometimes,” said Cavalieri.

Diego Cavalieri wants to convince Dunga to play with Brazil

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri wants to convince the Brazil coach Dunga that he can play in the Brazilian squad.

He has not been selected for the Copa America, and he finds himself almost 4th in the pecking order. However, he has not lost hope that one day he will be able to represent Brazil.

At the moment, Diego Cavalieri is behind Alisson, Diego Alves, and Ederson. He believes that with the long qualifying campaign coming just after the Copa America he may have a chance to prove that he is worthy of representing Brazil on the world stage.

Diego Cavalieri, who currently plays for Fluminense, believes that he has the potential to represent Brazil and that he will do everything he can in order to get a place in the Brazil team. So far he has made only 3 appearances for Brazil and hopes that he will be able to increase this number soon. His last appearance for the Brazil national team was in 2012, and he has yet to be called by the current coach Dunga.

Diego Cavalieri will be best remembered when he played in the English Premier League for Liverpool in 2008. He was signed for a fee of around £3 million from Palmeiras. He could not establish himself as the first team goalkeeper and had to satisfy himself with appearances in club competitions. He never played in the Premier League for Liverpool but did participate in the League Cup, FA Cup as well as the Champions League and the Europa League. He left Liverpool only 2 years later as he failed to replace Pepe Reina as the first team keeper and signed for Cesena where he will stay only 4 months. He will then return to Brazil to play for Fluminense.

DIEGO CAVALIERI IN GOAL AS FLUMINENSE TRUMPS VOLTA REDONDA

Fluminense thrashed Volta Redonda by two goals to nothing in an away match on Sunday. Deigo Cavalieri was in action as the visitors emerged victorious in the Brazilian Carioca 1 match.

The 33-year old goal stopper started his professional career at Palmeiras before moving to English premier League side, Liverpool FC. After spending three seasons with The Reds, he played for Cesena before returning home to ply his trade at Fluminense.

The goal keeper was impressive in the game against Volta Redonda. Cavalieri has been with the Fluminense team since 2011 and draws cult-like support from the fans. He has helped the squad to first position in the Carioca Serie A championship round with 14 points from six matches played.

The first choice goal keeper has not been given a chance to play much for his national country due to the abundance of talent that exists. He has been part of the national team three times, but without much action. The player has had relative success in his performances in various clubs. Though he played just one match for AC Siena, he went on to record 10 matches for The Reds. For Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, the player has 43 caps to his name. Since he’s been with Fluminense, he has had over 186 caps for the club.

Fluminense attacked the game with a sense of urgency as they sought for an early goal against their host. Volta Redonda had lost their match against third-placed Botafogo RJ by 2-0 before playing a draw with Vasco. Prior to the match, they had feared the attacking power of Fluminense with strikers such as 32-year old former national team preferred striker Fred, 29-year old Osvaldo and others, but they had defeated them in January by 3-1. With the loss to Fluminense, the team places fifth on the log.

FLUMINENSE DEFEATS BOAVISTA 3-0

In the most dramatic encounter yet, Fluminense put three unreplied goals past Boavista to win the second stage of the Brazilian Carioca championship. The spectacular match happened at Maracana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

An early goal from 28 year old striker Osvaldo in the 8th minute set the game on fire for Fluminense. Boavista conceded again in the 14th minute but via an own goal caused by Luis Alberto. The game went on with that margin until the first half ended. The second half was hard fought but the attacked from Fluminense proved too much for Boavista as they conceded the third goal in the 85th minute courtesy of Cicero. The 31 years old midfielder’s goal killed all possible attacking strength that Boavista could ever muster. The game ended three goals unreplied in favor of Fluminense.

Diego Cavalieri proved to be a capable goalkeeper. In the last Carioca championship, he kept a clean sheet against Flamengo and allowed just a lone goal past him against Botafogo RJ. In the Primeira Liga, he’s played 4 games this season, six more games in the Carioca 1 aside thirty four games in the Brasileiro Serie A.

The 34 year old shot stopper, born in Sao Paulo, has been with Fluminense for six seasons now. He is renowned for his shot stopping and reflexes even though he has poor foot skills and penalty saving aptitude. He was brilliant in the game against Boavista, keeping a clean sheet.

Going into the game, Fluminense had the advantage based on historical performances. The team, in 10th place in the Football League, defeated Boavista last season in both legs. Fluminense won a match by a lone goal and the other by two goals. In 2014 and 2013, Fluminense defeated Boavista as well. 4-1 aggregate total in 2014 and 2-0 total in 2013. Fluminense will play their next match on the 31st March against Bangu in the second stage of the Carioca Championship.

Culpi is beginning to shape Fluminense

It’s been less than 1 month since Levir Culpi took charge of Fluminense but he is already making big changes in the Brazilian club and he has kicked things off by altering the training routine of the squad.

Levir Culpi stated that these changes that he has been making with Fluminense are things that helped him in getting better results during his time with his former club Atletico Mineiro.

When Levir Culpi was in charge of Atletico Mineiro, he managed to lift the Brazil Cup and the South American Recopa title, before being let go. The 63 year old coach is hoping that he can replicate those kinds of results with Fluminense.

There are also rumors going on involving potential reinforcements as Levir Culpi is believed to be keeping in close touch with certain players that he wants to add to his team and attempt to make the title winning process easier for Fluminense, and the club’s link up with Pokies Palace Mobile will certainly help generate funds for new players.

One of the players who is rumored of joining Levir Culpi and his team is Thiago Ribeiro who used to perform in Atletico Mineiro. The 30 year old attacker is reportedly being viewed as a player that can reinforce the offensive department of Fluminense but it might be difficult to sign him as he has recently penned a loan deal with Bahia.

Despite having spent a fairly short amount of time in charge of Fluminense, Levir Culpi has already identified a few of the flaws of his team is that the squad is unbalanced with some areas of the squad being much better than others and one of the ways that Culpi is planning to solve these issues is by signing new players and cover these weaknesses.
It seems like Levir Culpi has big plans for Fluminense but at the end of it all, the results will do all the talking and will be the most important thing.

Fluminense have failed to convince supporters

Fluminense have failed to convince supporters that they can challenge for the title this season.

This is despite a 4-0 thrashing of Tigres do Brasil in the latest match. This is largely down to the defeats suffered by the club at the start of 2016. Poor preseason was followed up with defeats against the likes of Volta Redonda. The club has since recovered and they have gone undefeated in the last three games. Conceding goals continues to be a problem for the team and the defence was exposed a lot in the 3-3 draw with Madureira.

Ahead of a big clash with Cruzeiro, the club’s goalkeeper Diego Cavaliericlaims that there should be a quick response from the team. A victory against such a top team will help build back the fragile confidence in the team. More importantly, the club face a run of three difficult fixtures in back-to-back weekends. The match against Cruzeiro will be followed by a game against Flamengo with Botafogo next in line.Cavalieri says that victories from these matches will give his team a peace of mind that they are searching for in the last few weeks. Cavalieri also laid the blame for conceding three goals in the game against Madureiraon the sending off of Ernani.

“There are three matches against big teams. The collection comes from the United States (in the preseason). We have to find as soon as possible. A winning streak will give greater peace of mind. You have to have a system that works. No use leaving exposed defender. Against Madureira, had difficulties even with one more. We have to get it right as soon as possible. When we had this organization, we do not score. We know that our team has quality in the finish. If we are not goals, we will be closer to the goal,” said Cavalieri.

Ricardo Goulart says Dunga will probably keep a look on all

According to Ricardo Goulart, the fact that quite a few of the Brazil internationals are turning to the Asian Leagues, the national manager Dunga will probably keep a look on all of them now and keep them in the reckoning for call ups in future.

Generally, in the past, the players joining the Asian Leagues would go out of contention for the national team call ups, but, in the opinion of Goulart, now, with some renowned players like Renato Augusto preferring to take up the offer coming from Asia, the Brazilian managers, the current one or the ones coming in future, will have to change that perspective.

Goulart himself also made way to China the previous year despite knowing that his international career might come to a halt because of that decision of his.

He believes it was the correct option for him to choose at that particular point of time.

However, the 24-year old has not stopped dreaming of featuring for Selecao again.

Goulart had worn the Brazilian colours for the first time in 2014 versus Ecuador and it has been the only appearance that he has made at the international level to date.

But, he believes his consistent form in China would be acknowledged by Dunga, the current Brazil manager and he would give him the second opportunity.

Speaking to a Chinese TV channel, Goulart said, “I am very much optimistic and I think now with Renato coming in, Dunga would try to keep an eye on the proceedings in this League in China.”

“If he wants, he can get the information from the fellow Brazilians working over here, the likes of Scolari and others.”

“It’s all about what the manager feels. If he is impressed by your form, you can get the call up no matter where you are playing your Football.”
